More reds and pinks...
Salvia coccinea 'Forest Fire', self-seeded from last year
Reds and Pinks part III
Excellent - love the salvia, claypa.
:-)
That salvia was like four plugs from the nursery up the street last year, and they got about four feet high. I panicked when I read they would reseed a lot and yanked a bunch of seedlings - I don't know if these are the same plants or not
a winter sown Echinacea. I guess they're pink? Sometimes I think they're lavender or something. I just don't know anymore.... haha
Compost volunteer tomatoes. This vine was eight feet wide by six or so, ran all through a bunch of flowers. I yanked out most of it. The day I first noticed it there were almost a hundred tomatoes on it. At least a thousand when I had had enough of it. They're really good 'maters though, little tiny pear looking things.
things are pretty in 'SEPA'
Thanks. That last one's Anne Arundel County MD. There's nothing quite like that here. It's nice here too, just different.
My, Claypa... what Delicious planties you have!
Cool pics, Chantell!
Chantell, have you ruled out Mexican Sunflower? Those pic's look very similar to mine, except mine are Orange with yellow centers...
Yours looks similar, but not quite the same... http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/97/

Ah, yes, Claypa.
I think my zinnias look different. I'll have to pay closer attention.
Ohhhh, nap....that looks like a Fairy's garden!! Complete with pixie dust!!
Wrighte - I'm excited - I rec'd Mexican Sunflower seeds in a trade just recently...yipee
Claypa - there were 2 different blooms...
That Lantana is amazing! Which one is it?
the lantana is a hybrid 'bandana pink '07'
I'm not sure why it took so long to get started blooming ~ it is in full bloom now!
Ouch: I was just researching lantana, and discovered they are very toxic: see onalee's post at http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/578/
wow, never knew that.
lucky in my zone it just dies in the winter and we don't have the invasiveness threat ~ but the toxicity...not sure if I'm going to get it again after reading that. We have other toxic plants around, poinsettas and I can't think of them all now but there are a number of them.
very red and so pretty! what is it?
It was in a bouquet - but I assume it is a painted Daisy
