My first Fredrick Passion Vine

Scottsdale, AZ(Zone 9b)

It's growing like crazy. The only problem is I can't get it to flower and now it is probably too late in the year. Does anyone have any expertise with this vine. I would love to know what it prefers to be fertilized with and how often or any other morsel of info that may be helpful.

How long has it been in the ground?

The first year it may not flower all that much, but next year it shoul bloom prolifically, I had several hundred fruit off of mine this year.

Cheeto it may not be too late since a couple of my passion flowers are blooming like crazy right now.

Frederick will bloom some in the late summer & fall, but it's very heavy bloom is spring. If you do get blooms now & pollinate the flowers, there may not be enough time to get the fruit ripe before it gets cold. Fruit takes about 2 1/2 monthes to ripen, will be slower if the temps get too low & will abort if it get too cold.

Wow, thanks for the replies guys. Anyone have any tips for fertilizing? I am guessing something higher in phosphorus?

Use a high potassium, a 10-5-20 or 10-10-20 is good. Use about 3 pounds for a large vine 4 times year. They like to eat!

I bought a passion fruit vine and it became too invasive and I told DH I will get rid of it but now it has lots of flowers and fruits but are not ripe yet. Any way I opened one fruit and sure enough it is a passion fruit the expensive fruit in the orient. i hope they ripen before winter. Bellie
