Imperialis Update

Carnegie, PA

Ok, well I'm totally excited. I had taken these out of their pot only to discover extensive root rot. So, I made a fresh cutting from one stem, and left some healthier looking roots on the other. I repotted the rootless cutting in pure perlite and the other in Miracle-Gro with perlite. The perlite one was just wilting, so I pulled it out of the perlite and stuck it in with the other one. Now, a few weeks later, they have both perked up and the "mildly rooted one" has finally begun to show some signs of new life! So I don't think I'm gonna lose either one afterall. I was prepared to lose the one without roots. It had stayed wilted for so long, but after just checking, it has finally perked back up.
Not sure if you can see if the pic, but it's growing from 2 new spots on the stem. Whew, that was a close call.

Jen, it definately looks like it made it!! Good for you. I would say you can relax a bit now, and just enjoy the growing!
