Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone -

Weather is cooling off around here, too - only 100* yesterday. I keep forgetting that I work in a different climate, however, and it is definately sweater time out there.

Dad has cancer - again - so we are bracing ourselves for another round of radiation and chemo. We really can't complain as they told him he was going to die 10 years ago... he's pretty hard headed, though, so hopefully he can win this round, too... Seems like every time my sister and I have children, he goes into remission for a few years. Time for sis to have another baby - I'm too old to be having more kids now ;-)

Cattle fields are in their "rest" phase right now, so not too many cows to watch on the way home. Hay baling is still going on - big, round bales out side of town. In town they're just making straw right now, and those are still done in the small square bales. There's a nip in the air at 4 a.m., now, so I know autumn is coming - even if ol' Mr. Sunshine is reluctant to relinquish his rule. Hopefully the roses will take this as a signal to start blooming again. They are kind of backwards in their thinking - summer is the dormant time, then they bloom like crazy until Dec (assuming we get a killing frost sometime around then) with another flush of blooms in March -- until May-ish or whenever the first 100+ day arives.

Take care, everyone. Blessings to you.

Karla
