Pride of Barbados ~ Caesalpinia pulcherrima:
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2247/

I have more of these seeds from this showy beauty than Moses could have grown during his lifetime. So I am open to trade seeds for other interesting and attractive plants -- I am espectially interested in getting seeds for the American Wisteria.

Nothing to trade? No problem ... I'll send at least 10 seeds if you send an SASE (U.S. postage only) to me ... If you are outside the U.S. and use PayPal , contact me - we can work something out about the postage. JLMK in D-Mail, OK?

Hi, Lazlo,
Would love to try some of your seeds. Tried a couple of times before, but didn't work out for me. Want to try again. Check out my seed list. Most all of them are from 2006 harvest, but I've kept them refrigerated. We moved this year and I'm starting out from scratch so I won't have current year seeds until next season.

I would be more than happy to send you a SASE for some seeds. I would offer some exotic seeds, but I don't have anything exotic. ;-P

Venice, CA(Zone 10a)

I have Caesalpinia gilliesii which is yellow and grows about 8 ft. I have a lot of other exotics and desert type plants as well.Address is in the exchange.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

I tried these once and because I am so new to growing seed, none of them made it :(
I would LOVE to try them again though and see if my seed starting ability has grown at all *lol*
I would be more than happy to send postage should you have enough to share :)
I would offer something exotic too but don't have anything exotic to offer either :(

Thank you,
Kim

Kim   ==>   One thing that is important is to NOT cover the seeds completely ... partially is OK - - they must have exposure to sunlight to germinate. I also prep them by giving them a little nick opposite the pointy part and soaking them in a container of warm water for about 12 hours (overnight) before planting. i use peat pots or pods to start seeds and water from below until after the first true leaf appears. i also keep the seed trays underneath a humidifying dome so that the peat pots or pods do not dry out.

i sure do have enough to share - - send a business letter size SASE to my postal addy pls. here is the link to that info => http://davesgarden.com/address_exchange/view.php?user=LazLo

pls put postage on the SASE sufficient for 2 oz first class.

Lazlo,

I would love some of the seeds. I only have the usual run of the mill seeds such as white and purple with dark purple throat Daturas and Red Castor Bean. I would be glad to send these if you want , please let me know. Otherwise, I'l just send you a SASE, and hope that I can offer something in the future that you wold be interested in.

Daturas? hmmm ... interesting ...

are you talkin' "Devil's Trumpet" like this? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/89892/

or like this? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/23457/

or even more interestingly, like this? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/31587/

if so, let's work something out in D-Mail, OK?

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

This one: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/23457 and the seeds are just starting to ripen, shouldn't be long.

Also this one: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/6076/. I have plenty of seeds ready.

Hi. I put a SASE in the mail today if you have any seeds left. I'm a new gardener and have no seeds to trade now, but I'm working on it. Hopefully I will have some starting in the spring.

I have double purple ballerina datura seeds I could trade. They are like the top link you posted but the whole plant stays around 3-4 ft but still has the same large double purple and white flowers. Dmail me if interested in trading :)

Chickenville, FL(Zone 9a)

Here is a photo. I have been overwintering one of them in a pot (in my garage for the winter) for three years to see how long it will last lol. This is it when it first came back in the spring~ the overwintered ones bloom earlier than when started from seed. But they are easily restarted and will bloom from seed each year.
