Beetle, Wood-boring Beetle (Acmaeodera tubulus)
Has the 'lil one been positively I.D. as such? Beautiful flower that it was nectaring on!
Diahlia? Or is that Cosmos?
aardvark11,
I just noticed this image stored as one of the Jewel Beetles in the Bupestridae. It is in facr a longicorn beetle in the family Cerambycidae and I have identified it as the Locust Borer - Megacyllene robiniae. I have therefore moved your image to the Locust Borer page here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/27/
Please seek identifications through our Insect and Spider Identification Forum: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/bugid/all/
before adding images to BugFiles,
Kennedy
