"Don't know much about Butterflys but trying to learn.
Found this one on the bottom of a childes chair that was left out under the carport for a couple days....Closer pic to come.

Ooh...I'm guessing that's a Monarch chrysalis! Well, I just assume Kentucky probably doesn't have Queens come there and reproduce, so that leaves Monarchs. Must be some milkweed nearby. There should be a butterfly emerge (eclose)sometime soon, how neat!
What an interesting place to make a chrysalis. Lucky you. Keep watching that and it will be interesting for you. Just think that is so cool doing that on the bottom of a chair. Congrats.

Thanks for the info. we have a lot of small white B F in the garden but have seen very few Monarchs.
I've been looking at Milkweed plants, wow there's a lot of different types, leaver and flowers. I do not have any in my yard and don't see any close by, so I hope this one finds some.
