Just wanted to share a picture of my yard flock, plus the Squirt the goat.
Picture of my yard flock
Awwwww, Dixietoad_ga, Your little flock seems to be very happy and very interested in their food too! It looks like you have three of those Mystery chickens we all have been wondering about! are the white ones Leghorns or Cornish Crossses?
I am still trying to find some guinneas in my area that are reasonably priced. I think people know that if you dont get them as baby Keets or hatch them yourself , they just do not stay where you want them to. I have bought older Keets ,around 8 to 10 weeks and they always head for the woods and never return. I can still hear some of them ,now and then, calling from the trees. I need some babies so they will stay with my Chickens.
I wont even mention that sweet little goat. I raised goats for years but had to give them up, due to the space I wanted them to have . So I became a chicken Mama instead. I still miss the little critters.
Thanks Eufaula
I know two of my white chickens are Leghorns, one of them I saved from a chicken house. The other white looks more like a Cornish Cross she didn't get as big and she just has that look about her.
As for my guineas, I bought them at a livestock auction as babies for 3.00 & 3.50 each and have raised them with my chickens. They range in age from 3 to 5 months. The older ones I turned out first then I turned out the 2 younger ones like two weeks later. Any time I go outside my little yard flock will come running. I am really enjoying them and plan to add more, hoping to get blue guineas next time. I have some dark cornish chickens that I'm planning on turning out soon.
As for the goat he doesn't know if he is a cat, dog, chicken or human, he and the yard flock are becoming good companions.
Just look at that that! They are playing follow the leader! OooOooOooooh my! Look to the Right and the Spooky Kitty with the Halloweenie eyes,LOL!
I know about goats , believe me. They dont care if they are cats , dogs, chicks or Human, They just want everyone to know that they own the place!!!!! they adopt so wonderfully with all animals and seem to get really depressed if they dont have a lot of playmates! Looks to me like you have a good assortment of pals for him!
