We've been giving our chickens the imperfect melons from our crop all summer, its like a party for them every time. Yesterday afternoon we decided to capture the most recent 'party' on film!

Thank you Julie! Our birds love melons too. We threw them one on a whim in July and they just went crazy over it. I guess it's a welcome change from the everyday meal of pellets! The chickens just finished working over the watermelon in the picture this morning.

I only have two Hens and a rooster of that Breed but everyone that visits just loves them . Very Showy Birds!
We usually raise Barred Rock chickens. This the first year we've had the Speckled Sussex. They are beautiful aren't they!
