Identify this one help

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

I am new to butterfly gardening but have a good many plants for them. I live in east Texas. Today, without my camera, I saw a butterfly very different that the usual ones in my area. Can someone help give me a name ?
The shape was similar to the Satyr Anglewing or Question mark. The back side of the wings were solid dark brown or black. The top side wings were black edged with solid redish orange. Very bright color. I recently put out some over ripe bananas around some roses. It has also been very dry and I had just finished watering my garden.
Can someone help identify.
Thanks,
David

Could it have been a Red Admiral?:

Do not think that is it. The color was so bright. Top side of wings were solid with just the black border that looked like it went all around the wings.

Could you be describing a Queen butterfly?

Also you can click on your county and see what types are in your area on this site.

Thanks for the link and your help on this.
Will keep searching for it. As I noted this one was solid bright redish orange with a black border. I have never seen this one before around here so am wanting to see what has come my way. Most of the others listed in the link, I have seen often. Guess on the 6 acres of mostly wooded area is a heaven for BF's. Love them. My passion vines are stripped of most leaves from them.
Love this forum and the photos.

So it wasn't the Queen like in the pic, and you know the ones on your passion vines are Gulf Frits, right?
I am not sure where Jacksonville is but someone in your area may pop in later.
