This appeared in my local paper this morning.
Brian Lehman is sueing the Hand Hills Hutterite Colony for $350,000. It sems he fell off a horse while he took part in the Trail Ride for the Rainbow Society. This event happens yearly here( 10 years ) and proceeds go to the Make A Wish Program. This Trail Ride takes place every Thanksgiving Weekend and over the last 10 years has raised more then $160,000.
It seems Mr. Lehman tried to make his horse go over Barb Wire that was WELL marked and since the horse knew better, it kept backing up until he finally fell off. People that were riding with him said it was his own fault.
The ride goes along the river and crosses many lands privately owned. Mr Lehman was the ONLY person on the ride to NOT sign a waiver form.
Since this has happened the Ride has been cancelled as farmers will not allow access to their lands for fear of this happeneing to them.
Another fantastic thing gone because of the STUPIDITY of one person.
