The Moosejaw Collection

Augusta, GA(Zone 8a)

Here is the harvest of C. moshata, that Lilypon sent me to grow out. Best performer was the Beung Karn (back row) , pear shape ones are Musquee du Muroc, and the one in front is Fagtong Sri Muang. This one has a long season and only set one squash during regular season, but now that the weather has cooled, the vines are still growing rampantly and are setting a second crop.

But how do they taste?

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Cool, I love trying new squashes out, I love the looks of the ones in the back.

Do tell on the taste.

Danbury, CT(Zone 6a)

Me too, I love the ones in the back. Looks sort of lavender colored. Very nice.

Pretty typical of the flat cheese wheel type. Flesh is somewhat thin, more flavor than an acorn but not up to butternut in my opinion.

Beautiful squash! Visions of baked squash and cream of pumpkin soup coming to mind with those lovely photos. :)
