Ok I have a few more pictures ..yes again.. of some stuff growing in the yard.
I know they aren't the greatest but I was trying to get close but yet be able to see what they are.
More what are they pictures
It's hard to tell but #1 might be either Rosemary herb or maybe Portulaca Moss plant.
#2 looks a little like a hibiscus. Have either of these had blooms?
#2 nope these are all coming up where hubby mowed over the tall weeds around the brush piles we found.
By the time we move din not much of anything was blooming so I can't answer that part.
mm on #1 I'll have to grab some thursday before work and take it in the boss might know since he grows alot of herbs at work to use fresh.
#2 looks like Esperanza
Stephanie
ok so 1 & 2 we have an idea but what about 3 & 4 the leaves have more of a red coloring in them ..they all seem to have the group of 3 leaves on a stem so I am leary especially since I have poison ivy/oak on my arm lol..which is getting better
I think #2 and #3 are the same thing, Wild Blackberry, the others I can't see.
I'll try to do better tomorrow and repost pictures that are clearer
#1 loks like some kind of ragweed
#2,3,and4 are young dewberry vines
eww ragweed really? that has to go.... I have issues with that with my equilibrium when it pollinates.
dewberry like gooseberries?....they are edible in jams/jelly's?
keep or get rid of?
Dewberries are small blackberries. We picked enough for a cobbler this last season. Mmmmmm.....
So then maybe I should consider replanting them to a "bed" to try and contain them to grow for picking next season.
That way I cna kep track of good versus bad ...lol...got to get rid of the poison ivy /oak
Mibus, be VERY CAREFUL where you plant dewberries! They are extremely invasive!! If I were you, I'd try to let them grow in one place far from your beds. Maybe at the very back of your property?
Well for now they stay where they are as DH says no more outside past areas that have not been cleared and only those we know are clear from any poison ivy/oak.
I ended up going to the Doc today as I started with the itching feeling last night and was up 3 or more times cleaning the areas with the tecnu then the calagel and none of it has stopped the itching. Can't itch where the blisters are and can't itch where they aren't as those spots are where it is coming out next and being in the kitchen at work didn't' help either made the itching feeling worse.
so got a shot (ouch) and pills to take to get it cleared up out of my system.
Mibus, I almost had to take that shot once, the doc couldn't give it to me because I was 5 months pregmant. Instead he gave me a steroid spray. Hmmm maybe not much better. On the can the directions said "for use on large areas". I told him, well "I've got the large areas alright."
hehehe...well the nurse gave the shot and I must say and I told her too she did a great job cause I am not one for needles...I just don't do shots let alone anything with needles unless I really have to ..anyway I hardly knew she did it so that was good.
Now if the meds will just kick in and stop the dang itching it would be even better.
glad you finally went to the doctor. in the future should I have this malady again.....I'm going right away.....not after I have suffered for weeks like I usually do. It has definitely stopped my prowling around very much. Anything I see growing at the base of tree like a vine I check reaaalll close.
"Leaves of three, let it be.
Leaves of five, let it thrive." Campfire Girls Camp Elowi....19XX
Yeah i know the saying too was in girl scouts myself ...but with so many dang vines growing on everything it is hard to see how many leaves go to which vine.
Oh and I called the extension office today and left my name and number there they do not send master gardeners out to look things over they send an associate and of course I knew with the fair going on till the 29th I may get a call but he won't be out most likely till after the fair is over.
Glad you called the County Agent. Probably will be able to steer you in the right direction.
Anything we would tell you would only be conjecture because Texas' climate areas are so diverse, as is the soil and anything else. One thing we are all alike.....friendly to a fault......can sometimes feel like we are nosey and meddling....just the way we are.
Bulding a bottle tree today....yay!
LouC, be sure to show it to us when you are finished, I would love to see it.
Josephine.
Jo, just a call from a friend.....we are going on the 30 mile flea market jaunt between Cleburne and Maypearl, and Grandview....that's where I got my original Texas Star plant.
Hurry....hurry...
Christi Lou
I wish I could join you, have fun my friend.
Josephine.
Hope you had fun today and don't worry about asking questions or stating things all in getting to know each other and heck someone is interested if nothing else *S*
Well today was great. probaby stopped at 75 garage sales and each little town had it's own string of tents. Really didn't buy anything....nowhere to put it but just had an alround good time.
Well good I am glad you had an enjoyable time.
