I took this photo near Tampa, FL. I have noticed similar damage to air potato in other regions (especially in Lakeland, FL), and suspect that this native slug does some good at controlling air potato. For those that don't know, air potato (Dioscorea bulbifera) is an invasive plant throughout the state of Florida.
