This plant bloomed earlier this summer but is now so laden with new buds she's going to blow out! I just had to post this to show how hard it is for me to contain my excitement. Sorry if you're sick of seeing the garage doors and gas meters... my way of making them disappear.
I can't bear the anticip-p-pation
very very heaLTHY LOOKING COLOR? NAME?
Here she is in early summer:http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3841844
Now imagine her glory in an week or so... and there are many baby buds, so she might last until frost.
That is going to be a great picture, once she opens all those buds.
That is a beautiful and happy brug!
Andy, please post a picture when she is in full bloom. I bet that she will be beautiful!!
I have one that I really need to see this set of blooms in cool weather before I can decide if I release it this fall or not. It is a pod mate to my 'Autumn Treasure' which is a Tropical Sunset X Whiskers cross.
Praying for a late frost for both of us.
You sure are doing something right. Just lovely!
Wow, it's gorgeous! So small, yet SO loaded! Love the shape! Just lovely! I can't wait to see the blooms, either! I've started wanting small ones... I have a couple baby C.Grimaldi I rooted over winter that have almost done nothing all season... Alex has come along okay, after a long bout w/spider mite in Spring, it's about 3ft and just y'd... she has potential, but probably next year... Not nearly as pretty as yours!
Wow... what a flush your gonna have! Way to GO Andy! You have done a great job with your brugs! Do post when she opens.. that's gonna be a showstopper!
Andy, how tall is that beauty? I looked at the bloom pic and it seemed bigger, maybe the distance or angle the pic was taken... Maybe it's not a small brug, afterall? It was gorgeous then, too, what a performer you have there! Love the way the blooms hold themselves up a little with such pride, the shape, the bloom color and shape.. I love everything about it!
I am so happy to read your enthusiasm. The first petals are just inching their ways out of the puffy buds. They love the cool, sunny weather we are having, down to about 12C at night and daytime averages of about 24C. I'm watering daily and fertilizing with 15-30-15 twice a week. My whole neighbourhood is holding their breaths. I've alerted the media.
For the record, it's an Eventide x Butterfly from seed from Susie.
I'll be here waiting for your news flash, Andy. That is a precious one. Sometimes I feel like it takes forever to get the bloom "delivered" and other times, they sneak up on me. I have to ask, have you seen the thread about the miracle mite cure? (no one has even whispered about your garage doors or gas meters, your strategy worked! lol)
OMG WOW!!!!!!! This is incredible!! I can't wait for the bloom pic!!
Amanda! How are your big brugs?
absolutely beautiful.....so healthy looking.....what are you feeding it???
