Well, I'm down to just one buddleia and that's scheduled for shovel pruning now as well. The question is what to replace this one with. I'm contemplating vitex -- for both bloom time and structure. Yes, yes, I know it's not native. While I am generally a native plant enthusiast and have many different native plants in my garden, I am not a native plant purist. Well behaved exotics are welcome as well.
So, this is my question. Does v. agnus-castus present any invasive concerns in the mid-atlantic? I'm talking about invasive in the ecological sense, not home garden aggressiveness. I know that the beach vitex (a vine) is invasive in the southeast and that some vitex has made invasive lists in some hot dry locations like Texas. I just can't find anything on v. agnus-castus in my region.

I can't find it formally listed as being invasive however I did find that it has naturalized in 16 states to include as far north as Pennsylvania-

Probably not a good sign that this plant is going to be a well behaved exotic in MD.
