I recently saw some pictures of a white form of Erythrina crista-galli. Does anyone have any info on this plant? Anyone know of a source, either plants or seeds? I love the red form, would love to have the white too.

Erythrina crista-galli
Hey Popper1;These trees are ubiquitous in Southern CA.
www.plantsofperfection.com/ This place is in Canada,Go figure! plants are $12.00
http://shaman-australis.com.au/ Sells seeds. This place is one of my Favorites for Exotic seeds.Does not require a Phyto-Cert. Will not ship plants to US,only seeds. They do however sell Lophora williamsii seeds.
This tree is from Brazil and will grow in 8b-10
San Marcos Growers sells the white form,as well as the Pink,Yellow and Green ones l
http://www.smgrowers.com/info/erythrina.asp this site also has a Nursery locater.

Hi,
I don't know how to include the info here. If you go to 'guides and info' on Dave's forum and go to 'search the plant' using the name, if will give you more info about the plant as well as any vendors that sell it.
I've checked your links zebraman, at the moment all I see are the red form, I'll check back and watch for the white.
Thanks-
David
Hey Popper1; On the San Marcos link
Plant Listings,Blue Box
click on All Plant List,go to Browse Alphabetically, click on E,2nd page
The only one they currently are showing that isn't pink or red is
Erythrina coralloides 'Bicolor' which is red and white.
Also click contact far right and send them an email. They do carry the white.
That Erythrina coralloides 'Bicolor' is beautiful, too bad they don't ship.
They're a wholesale grower, it's possible you might be able to talk a local nursery into ordering from them. But if they don't usually ship to FL then you might have to order a whole truckload of stuff!
You could also contact Plant Delights. They carry Erythrina x bidwillii but are currently SOLD OUT.Obviously popper1 isn't the only one interested in these.
Oh and buy the way I have purchased from three different sites while in the process of looking for this.I just spent another $100 bucks at this place-
http://www.alohatropicals.com/ Thanks a lot.
Zebraman-I went ahead and sent Plants Delight an email about the bicolor, just in case. :-)
