Help in figuring out what these are tree - bush keep?

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Hi me again with a couple more pictures from plants in my yard.
one is a tree but what kind of tree? I have a bunch of them out back and if they are something to hang on to so to speak I need to know as they need to be thinned out for sure.

I'll post the tree here and the other picture next

Three looks familiar but I am not sure, it looks like a type wild fruit tree.
Is the second a small bush?

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

the second one is kinda a such hubby had went to trim around a big tree and it had ground hornets so he soaked the area with water then cut stuff.
this was still there the bottom of the branches are brown wood (lack of better term to use) I am guessing it is suppose to be a bush but we also know that no one has done much in care of anything plant wise here for several years.

as for the tree I would love for it to be pecan trees and my mother tells me she wants persimmons when she comes in December LOL but knowing my luck it isn't' either one.

I can tell you it is not a pecan, but it could be native persimmon although the leaves seem rather narrow.

I know it isn't' peach as they leaves are different I looked at both this afternoon to compare and I have not found anything on them to say they had flowers or any kind of fruit but then there are so many of them in one area I don't think they are mature enough yet to be able to produce anything

Second one looks like some sort of rose.....but if Jo doesn't know, I sure don't. My neighbors let cherry laurel grow wild and the first is somewhat like that. right now the CL is covered with purple berries (favorite of the cedar wax wing). What kind of bark and how big around? Maybe that would help someone who really knows how to id.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

nope no berries of any kind or any other signs of fruit/seeds
I'll have to go out and take a picture of the trees themselves
the diameter isn't much bigger then putting your thumb and middle finger in a circle but then there are so many together they don't' have much of a chance to grow bigger round.

Are the four pictures all of the same tree?

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

yep there is a group of them together #2 is that pic and the rest are closer up so you can see the bark and the leaves

I believe what you have is American Persimmon but not totally sure, check this out, http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/40870/

ok they look like mine so then I do have persimmons too ...hahahaha...hubby is gonna love me for sure now ..but they need to be thinned out as none of them have much room to grow and there is nothing on them fruit wise so they must be young trees yet. they are just alot of thin trucked trees that have grown tall more then anything.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes they have to be a certain age before they bear fruit, not sure haw many years, you are a lucky lady, finding so many hidden treasures.
Josephine.

And we at DG are so lucky to have a treasure like Josephine.

I agree with you there LouC and so many others that have helped me in my quest of learning what I have here.

I am so glad I stumbled across this place.
And just think now that I am learning what I have and I have an abundance of several things I will be bringing things with me to the swap in October.
I know Mitch and Bronc will be happy as they both wanted trees and Charlene told me gardenias are easy to root so I have take a couple cuttings nad am trying them now so I may even have a few of those to bring along too .

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I WON'T BE ABLE TO BE THERE.....YOU ARE GOING TO MISS ME.

hahahahaha

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

hehehe I think I already told you I wish you were going to be there and not on vacation

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes we are going to miss you LouC, could you maybe reschedule your vacation?
Josephine.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I agree LouC needs top reschedule her trip by a week so they can come

Another couple is involved.....we rent a condo directly on the beach......one of the most relaxing weeks of the year. Have to reserve way in advance to get this particular place.
You can bet I will be more careful in the future.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Ok well I understand that as my folks go down to the mission area fo ra month in January and I knwo they "reserve" the trailer early in the year.so I'll let ya off this time lol

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Have to admit.....I'm torn this time.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

well a lil disappointment here now one of the guys that works with my daughter came out to help get the washer and dryer from her apt to the house and we walked the back half and what we thought was pecans is actually hickory nuts. But then who knows there are still trees we haven't gotten near yet due to vines so there might be pecans yet ...crossing fingers and toes now lol
