Ok I have been around the block on the web site but I have no idea what Varigated Foliage ( African Violet) is can some one tell me please

Variegated foliage is foliage (leaves) that has white on it as well as green. There are different types of variegation that make the white show up in different patterns - sometimes only on the edge of the leaf, sometimes only in the center, sometimes splattered all over. If the leaf normally has a pink undertone to it, the pink will show through on the white parts so that it looks green and pink. Does that answer your question? :)

Check out this one in Plant Files, Dimmer! This one has been on my "Wish" list for quite awhile! http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/135448/
The leaves are absolutely Gorgeous!

If you get a chance look through Plant Files at all the Beautiful AV's with photo's. There are so many with leaves as pretty as the flowers!

Gail, that link shows Wrangler's Pink Patches. Your Harmony's Little Stinker looks wonderful. I will do a tutorial on that one as I have a large one ready anytime to de-crown.

Lin, I will see to it you get that violet. Be patient with me as it might be spring. I have been lax about putting leaves down.

Dimmer - here is a thread from the Houseplant forum focusing on variegated plants.

Snow..............this isn't fair.............your small plants look so much better than mine........I just may say to heck with 21/2" pots for minis................their little crowns seem to be determined to grow upwards rather than out.........they almost jump out of the pot.........this pic you have is beautiful...................

OOOOH My Goodness, that Harmony's Little Stinker is Wonderful!! Now I have another favorite to add to my list! I have never seen that one before, and those leaves are just gorgeous too! Wow! I am loving some of the leaves even more than the blossoms!

Thank you Snowrose and Gessiegail!

Well..............plantladylin.................she says that it is like starting a baby factory for chimeras once we learn...........and she will be teaching us .............I have tried to pinch all the buds off my chimeras..........but 4 are blooming anyway.........won't have a pretty bloom the first time..........that is just the way avs act...................each subsequent bloom gets better and better.............

(Zone 1)

I only have one chimera that I got recently from the lady in my local AV club. It is a small plant so I will pinch off blooms for awhile .... if it ever decides to bloom!

I just want to start my baby factory with these chimeras..............I have 11 now...........but they are still growing................and blooming............only Harmony is definitely ready for surgery................can't wait................
