WAHOO!! I've got lots of Celia today! You guys have to forgive me, I konw this is kinda common bu I'm just THRILLED because I haven't had blooms for months from this one!! (thrips) YIPPEE!!!
Blooms for 09-14-2007
Pretty pictures. My hibiscus are all sitting in front of the garage and will go in tonight due to frost that is three weeks earlier than normal. It's only 55 degrees right now. Pretty chilly for September.
WOW, Brugie! You should put on your capris, flip-flops. sunglasses and straw hat and come no down here! It's much warmer and I know I'd be willing to trade spots!!
Thanks Amanda, but I can take the cold easier than I can take your kind of hot temps and I get a break before long. About a 4 or 5 month break. LOL!
See, Brugie - we think alike! I want that!!! :)
We have lots of room in Iowa for new homes or you can pick any one of many homes on the market. Iowa is a pretty quiet state. Come on up and join us.
:) Well, you're tempting me there!!
You would hate winter. 10-20 below zero at times is hard to take. Ice is the worst thing. We don't always get it, but when we do, it's tough going for a while.
Hey Amanda and Brugie,
Very nice Amanda!!! I love the Skitzo. I The girls are fine and told me to tell you they would be home Tuesday or Wednesday. LOL We may have our electricity on tomorrow or sunday. It is just HOT and all the fans do is blow hot air. I really thought I'd be used to it, spending so much time in the GH that flew to kansas first class Thursday morning LOL What a mess. I have most of my personals in 3 gallon pots outside of the GH, So I just put them as close together as possible. They sometimes say that things are safer in numbers. Well, I had about 90 huddled in my front yard by my shrubs and they were all ok!!! The back had many many more all huddled together and they were all OK. Well, a tree split and went over them. I thought I lost them for sure, but when I took a closer look there were 4 branches that actually held it up and protected them they were untouched. Just a few stray tree branches on them. Weird how things work!!!
Take care,
Robert
Beautiful schizo Amanda. Brugie, I know that I just hate the summer heat here and I like it cold, but I don't know how this native So Californian would do at -20 degrees. I don't even own a heavy jacket, lol ;-)
Robert, I'm so glad that your babies (and all of our future babies, lol) are alright. Sounds like you've had an awful week. I sure hope things continue to look up :-)
I had some pretty blooms last night when I got home. First up is the lovely Molten Lava.
Lucky you, Robert. It will be enough work just cleaning up the downed trees without having to work on the hibiscus too. I don't know about you, but I'd rather take my own cuttings and not have Mother Nature do it for me.
Karen, that Strawberry Fields Forever, is something else.
Nice, Karen!!
Thanks, Robert! I can't wait! You know, that is incredible that they all did so well huddled up together!! How does that safety in numbers saying go? :)
They are ALL lovely! That Soft Spot is sure different, I LIKE it! Robert, things like that really amaze me, too! Sorry you are uncomfortable down there, and having to deal with the aftermath/cleanup. I didn't see your green house blow over, must have gone more east or west of me (AND your little dog ToTo, too) lol
ya, I see it, Amanda, nice Schizo :oP ;)
