I am very concerned about a post I read that viney plants like ivy are conduits for termite infestation when they climb your brick walls if they attach to wooden window frames, etc. Is this true?

Yes, they provide the cloak of darkness for the termites to build their tunnels. Actually any foundation shrubs can have the same effect. Extermination and constant vigilance are necessary to combat the dreaded termite.
