What happened at Dahlia Hill in Midland? greathorse and I were so excited to go and visit there, especially after hearing so much about it and visiting their web-site. It was so disappointing. Another couple was there from Muskegon and they too were incredulous at the lack of plants/flowers/info.
Dahlia Hill
I thought your place was Dahlia Hill Marsha ;)
Oh Al, whacha doing in Michigan ?? I'll wander near the border and touch Wisconsin if you're not careful.
I have a hill with dahlias.

We were sorely disappointed at the disparity between our dreams and what was there. Most of the plants were of a size that suggested mid-june, not mid-Sept.
There were 3 stunners, plus another amber/gold one that we liked. not many name tags.
Liked Santa Claus
granny if I would have known you were in Midland I would have loved to join you !!!!!!! Its my understanding that they need more volintiers (sp) and money, it used to be wonderful but I think the pics are misleading it looks so big but its not I love the place though they have good sales though I don't go to them cuz I have no where to store them booooo
Gloria
Leave my Wisconsin alone! I like those 3. When were you there previously?
I had some flowers in midJune. Any scary lows by you yet?
I have some big ones, but not in red.
And the best blooms of all.
The photo, besides showing off my DD & DGD's will show the sizes of the plants.
We'll try to go again next year, we were wondering what happened, if anyone has an explanation, please let us know. It's a loooong way from Marquette to Midland.
The couple from Muskegon had a bit of a ride also. LOL

Hey, who is the purpley one smack dab in the middle?
That's Kenora Macop B. Can't believe it hasn't snapped with the winds lately - it's 3' over the stake.

It's going on the list !!! And maybe I'll just come and steal it from ya. In my new car. Whatcha think 'bout that ?
Be sure to steal Peaches and Cream next to it too - I'm backing over that one with MY car.
That bed is one I have at my neighbors.
I'll pass on that one. Even if there was a 3# bag of M & M's tied to it. Give it to a newbie. Or someone with decent soil. Altho....Seattle grew up to be lovely this year for me, it must have realized it was do or die time.
But I will save you a Bodacious tuber if there are any hiding underground this year.
Here's a nice hunk of Ivory Palaces, all with nice long stems. The customers at the Farmers Market love 'em.
You are such a sellout, it used to be about the flowers - not the money man!
P&C went a whole year without flowering here.
How different is Ivory Palaces from Magic Moments?
I can buy stuff with $$$. More tubers. Manure. triple super phosphate. gas for the tiller. stakes.
Never had Magic Moments (the dahlia that is.)
Who knows something about Power Point presentations? As in, what is it??
I don't know much - like a computerized slide show.
Oh My Gosh, how cool is that?
Maybe next year we can manage a get together. It's on my short list of places to go.
Okay people, there have been 75 hits on this thread--someone has to know something !!!!!
I draw people in wherever I go. Are you giving a presentation.LOL
I've been asked to do a presentation in Feb/March by the la-de-da Garden Club. As opposed to my Garden Club, made up of people who actually garden. My fingernails should be clean by then. Maybe I better shut up, it's not impossible that one of them might read this. ROTFLMAO
Don't worry - I belong to the whoop-dee-doo garden club.
You could get some info in the computer forum. I think once you figure out how to add content giving the presentaion should be the easy part.
Here's a thread I found - roh oh!

Do they supply stuff?
Going back a couple minutes....temps haven't been too bad. It is supposed to get cool/cold tomorrow night, but I hope that Superior will exersize it reknown lake effect.
Supply stuff ??..... lunch and 'airs'

al, you are killing me with all your witty comments.
mom, i think i read somwhere that Dahlia hill was just terraced this spring so maybe that's why the Dahlia's were so behind.
