What's with this duck??

Howell, MI

I'm posting some pictures of my ducks by my pond......but my main wonder is about my black one. She's a Cayuga.....and for some reasons her wings are stuck up in the air. Do I leave them? or Does anyone know of a way to fix them?? They were fine/normal until she got older......my mom thinks she's just deformed......and I'm just wondering what ya'll think! :)

about angel wing. I don't think it can be fixed as the duck would be too old.

Don't ducks, especially white ones, always look like they're grinning about something?

my swans and sabastapols have angel wing
They look kinda goofy but I love them

I do feed high protien feeds to everyone

After a great deal of reading I chose to feed all my birds (guineas, turkeys, chickens, ducks) the same food.... everybody started on game bird starter which is a high protein. At this time I feed a mix of gamebird conditioner and laying mix along with fresh stuff.

I did so knowing that high protein wasn't recommended for ducklings, but others were doing it successfully. If only one of your flock has the issue I think overall you did very well.

The bird looks very healthy from the pics. It's not in pain. It just doesn't look perfect.... won't change how you feel about it.

I had a goose that had angel wing..got him as a day old gosling.. He lived a happy and long 22 years.. Would have lived longer but contracted some kind of bird virus from wild ducks..I miss that mean old goose.. He was the meanest one I've ever had..

I had been wondering how - with the feed being for starting ducks......and too much protein - why it would have that. But you're right Julie - if only one of them has it - out of 13....not bad! :) It's true though - it's not like she's any less important - I'm just thrilled that she's not hurting (I thought her wings may have been broken). lol

Larkie - isn't it funny how we miss the mean ones!?!? lol My mom had a mini fleur bantam rooster - and all last summer - he HATED me!!! Not my sister - who looks just like me........ME! lol I was just telling my mom today how much I missed him!! haha!

Yep,
I also had a mean rooster.. He had a piece of everyone in our county, lol..All on the farm almost had a party when these 2 were gone for good ...I still miss them..
