Report: Houston nursery bargains

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Houston Plant and Garden World started their 70% off sale on Sep. 1st. I went today and noticed there's a lot of good stuff. Roses $6, tree roses $13, assorted tropicals $10, shrubbery $5-$10. Lots of plants for under $3. A large inventory of trees, including citrus, oaks, CM, you name it. ferns, hosta, azaleas. The only thing that looked pitiful were the hibiscuses.

I showed incredible restraint only getting a Home Run 5 ft tree rose, a 6 ft yucca for indoors, and a Cuban Gold Duranta shrub, which I will train as a standard. All for about $9 each.

Houston Plants and Garden (yellow and red umbrella) is also having their 70% off sale.

My Lowe's has tulips, daffs, freesias, etc. avail. for sale. In Houston? what are they thinking?!?!?!

Hope you two are not getting floods...I know Houston is miles across so never know just who is affected and who is not. Floods are bad for anyone.

Not us. Not a drop. Thanks for thinking of us.
