New to Brugs, would like seeds or cuttings please
Gail, I won't be cutting back until late October, but if you will remind me, I can send you some cutting then.
Patricia
Last year I was where you are now! In love with brugs just from the pictures. I now have at least 40 most of which have bloomed are blooming or are budded out!!! Starting in about Oct. through Jan or Feb people will be offering cuttings for trade or postage and you will be able to get enough to make you happy. I had at least 70 rooted cuttings at one time but I gave a lot to friends and relatives because I did not have room for all of them! You can find rooting instructions on this forum if you need them.
Thank you both, I can't wait til I can grow my own....I will check back in October or later...
Thank you again,
Gail
If you send me a $4.60 stamp I can get you several cuttings off in the mail.
Welcome!!!
Caren
Hi Caren,
I would love that...What color do you have?
Thank you for the welcome too...
Thanks again
Gail
Heavinscent, do you have more cuttings available? I am getting ready to take the plunge into Brugs myself.
Hello Gail,
If you send me a stamp for 4.60 I will send you some cuttings also.
James
Gail, I'll send you at least one of each color.
Plex, You can go ahead and send a stamp as well. Be sure to write a little note saying what the stamp is for and your DG name.
Im in the address exchange.
Thanks
Caren
I am new to DG and have been surfing some of the forums. This is a WOW one !!!!
I am new to gardenting and do not have any Brugs or Daturas but am certainly thinking about them. I need to do some research to determine if I really want them with the toxicity issues - we have beagles. Such beautiful, beautiful flowers.
Even though I am not an active participant, I am avidly reading all the comments from all the Brug forums. They are so educational.
HI Caren and James,
I am going to send you the 4.60 stamp....thank you very much for your wonderful generousity....I hope someday I may do the same for someone....
Oh I am so excited to start the cuttings....will you both label each one for me so I know what color to expect? Thanks
Have a great weekend
Gail

You're a beagle parent (mommy/daddy) also?! We have 2 beagles (usually always referred to as "the girls" :) We have never had a problem with them trying to chew on my brug or any other garden plant (also have Castor Bean plants which are highly toxic). They're been known to want to help with the digging sometimes tho... My problem is almost always with the "tree rats" (aka squirrels...don't like them...but that's just my opinion...).
I can fully understand your hesitation/concern as, just as our 2-legged children, our 4-legged furry babies can also be "curious" and/or "sassy".
I do admit that I have put 18" green wired fencing around the "Tropical Garden". The fencing blends in with the green grass/plants so it's not real noticable and/or unsightly. I just felt better doing that for my own peace of mind. As such, the girls have been unable to access that garden. Too "fluffy" to go thru the fencing and beagles just aren't into jumping the fences. We use a 12" barrier in the doorway to the kitty's "room" and, altho they could just hop over it they have never tried to!
Hope this helps with your gardening decision...
Jan
