Finally.....hoyas in place

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

I finally got tired of my hoyas falling over, and as Tami said growing into each other and everything falling over when you move just one:-). I ordered several sizes of trays that hold all of my hoyas. I have trays that will hold from 2.5 inch pots to 7 inch pots. It will also make watering easier and the greenhouse is much neater.

Blessings,
Awanda

Very nice...but now you've reminded me of how much I admire your hoyas...think I'm about due to try a midnight raid.
When are you and Kermit going on another vacation...lol???
And when is evil granddaughter Dionica NOT going to be there guarding your plants???
I still remember her patting me down for sharp objects before I could go in your greenhouse...that child is SCARY!!!
(also extremely cute)

.........................and yet....regardless of trays....there is still the winding, unwinding, rewinding...............ad infinitum.

Great idea. I have a couple trays to use that way, but they're not very deep and the plants would fall over anyway lol.
I use those same exact cups to root my cuttings in. I just love them.

Sistah A - wish I had seen these before I did all that work in the greenhouse!! Nice find!

I STILL have Awanda's Hoyas Envy!!

Those are great. Where did you find them? I have been using big Rubbermade containers with sphagnum moss in the bottom sort of shaped into the form of the pot I set in it. Ha.

Marcy...any nursery supply house will carry them and you can get them online. they weigh nothing as they are made of blow molded plastic. Google planting or potting trays. I think Charlies Greenhouse Supply carries them.

Looks really nice Awanda. And I am so sorry, I just realized I haven't sent your pots out. Please forgive me, I have been so darn busy.

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Sharon, you're safe from the hoya guarding granddaughter until Christmas:-). I almost thought I was in Karen's greenhouse this morning when I went in mine, it was just a bit too neat:-). Marcy here is the link to the place I brought them from:

I also ordered loads of new pots and trays.

Here are some pictures of my reorganized greenhouse:-). I can now go in without stepping over plants and can actually sit in my chair without having to move plants:-).

Love your greenhouse and I am jealous. We here in the midwest certainly have a need for a greenhouse (only a dream yet for me) but am curious why the need in AZ. Moisture? Shade?

Well I have a greenhouse for the part of Arizona I'm in to deal with the 105 - 116+ temps we have during the summer months. We also have very low humidity most of the time. I don't think my hoyas would be happy outside with those temps:-).

Well, looks like I'm not the only neatnik here! LOL - Beautiful greenhouse, Awanda!!

Still envying your hoyas........

Oh My!! Awanda...you have a jungle in there. How serene that must be to dwell amongst your greenery.
Marcy

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Oh geeze Sharon, we're thinking alike....scary:-). Sistah K you are still the neatest greenhouse winner:-). Marcy it is really serene and peaceful sitting in there. I also have a CD player inside and it's great listening to music and playing plants.
Tami, not a problem with the pots, just finish up what you need to get done.

London, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

I've seen those trays before and was considering using them to move my plants when I travelled from Bristol to London but in the end I found it much easier to put all the plants in boxes to give them more support and to stop them from falling over on their way. Unfortunately I don't think I have room for them now, so all "naughty" falling over plants just get propped against the sides of the shelves I'm keeping them on now, where they are having lots of fun trying to grow towards the light (makes the kerrii look ugly) and climb through the holes in the shelves (one of these days I'm going to have to attempt to train my NOID possible IML-557 on a trellis!)
Definitely got greenhouse envy, although I'd prefer a conservatory so I can spend lots of time sat with my hoyas :)

Wow! Awanda, you have come a long way since you first got hooked on hoyas! It's a good thing you don't work outside the home. :)

Susan

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Hills, I still spend lots of time with my hoyas in the greenhouse. I have a chair, CD player, and a pond just outside so it's all good:-). Susan you're right, I have come a long way since we first started collecting hoyas back in 2002! I would have never thought back then that I would have as many as I have now or on my second greenhouse:-).

It looks like you got it growing on, Sistah' Awanda! Your greenhouse looks great!

I have started the winter migration of Hoyas inside. I am convinced my greehouse is shrinking. It gets smaller every fall when the Hoyas come back in.

I love your greenhouse Awanda! ***BEAUTIFUL***

How are those trays working out?
