Plumeria cutting

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

I was just wondering if anyone has started trimming to bring in their plumeria. If any one has plumie cutting sitting around, I would love to get my paws on it here.

I got little plumie seedlings that's like 3 inches high and someone suggesting that people might be giving away their cuttings when they trim to bring in the plumerias for the winter. So I'm trying my hand at it. So, I'm adopting any plumeria cutting here.. :)

Hello Icosden,
I have been trimming mine all year lol!
Id love to do a trade perhaps.
What do you collect or grow?
Im in Caudicaform mode these days.

Malestrom, LOL.. I thought people only trim in the fall.. LOL..

I don't know about collecting since I'm rather a new gardener but I do grow a lot of different things. Here's some of the stuff I grow

Strawberry (Mara de Bois) - rooting runners
Bueberry (Tophat & Sunshine Blue) - cuttings
Stevia (Sweet Herb) - cuttings
Regular Herbs (cilantro, basil, parsley, dill, etc) - seedlings
Blanket Flower (Goblin) - seedling
Medicinal Aloe - cuttings
Daylilies (Kwanso & Frans Hals) - fan

and lots of different flower seeds (for next year) from swaps and trades
ie, buddha belly, mornng glory, hibiscus, tiger lilies, daylilies, etc

Let me know if you're interested in any of these things here or what specifically you're looking for.. Thanks

Lindy

When you say Budha Belly Plant do you mean jatropha podagrica?
Heres a bunch of pics http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2445/

I tried to germinate seeds of Jatropha podagrica a couple of times and couldn't get any to germinate. Maybe I didn't soak them for long enough. My Jp was one of the things that I lost in the freeze. That's a neat plant.

Do they require scarification or a cold spell?

Is Adeniums/ dessert rose? another name for the same plant.

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

The name Adenium and Desert Rose are the same
Adenium and Desert Rose are NOT Jatropha podagrica

I don't know, Michael. I tried a couple times. I think I soaked them first the second time.

Ill put them in the science chamber and expose them to things from outer space.
Ill research them before I trade for them.

I remember a thread posted somewhere, maybe in the Tropicals Forums, that showed a little patch of Jatropha podagrica in someone's yard. It was so cute. It inspired me to plant mine and sow seeds. Well, the seeds didn't germinate, and the plant was killed by the freezing temps we had. I won't buy another because I have too much right now to take care of, but someday, I'll get it again. I'll see if I can find that thread.

This might have been the picture that I saw before: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=788710

Malestrom, yeah.. I got them from Delisa last month.. So the seeds should be fresh. I haven't tried to germinate them yet. I was going to try sowing them indoors over the winter.
