I have several jacarandas that I have grown from seed. They range from 8" to 12" tall and are 8 months old. Fall is here where I live, and I was wondering if these bonsais need to go dormant. Is this necessary? and how do I do it? BTW, I cannot place them outside as our fall nights and winters are too cold.
Wintering Bonsai
Jacarandas do not go dormant, they are subtropical. Best to bring them indoors, give them plenty of light and humidity. They are native to South Africa, temps below 70°F are stressful to them.
