I have enjoyed this forum so much I thought I would try to start participating more actively. I have successfully got my Achimenes to root from a leaf and I was wondering if any of you would want some leaves. I am about to let it go dormant for the season. It was identified by this group as Purple King. I could trade for episicia plantlets, varigated AV leaves or what ever you have available. For at least one newbie I will send some for postage. Let me know what you think.

I am surprised someone hasn't been jumping at this offer! I just won 2nd place Bingo and the prize was plants from Cedarnest ... she sent me a rooted Achimenes Purple King Rhizome and also unrooted cuttings that I have in water! I hope it does well for me ... my first Achimenes!
I am as new as they get to these... Gail is going to help me learn to propergate ... So if you would not mind sending me for SABE I would be more then happy.. If not I do understand.

Ok...................I can't not help someone wanting to learn...............I will send you a freebie for getting started and I don't need a thing...............it will not costs much as leaves and cuttings are light weight and travel well..................will you dmail me and give me your address, please begoniadude...................I have two boxes to get off tomorrow and will get yours off too....................I will send you a surprise box...............leaves, stolons, cuttings, etc...............enough to get you started.......................propagating...............sounds like you did really well to grow what you did from leaf...........they aren't as sturdy as some.............

begoniadude, ...lol...I hope I haven't been rude but I have been hinting at your Purple King for awhile. I have several other achimenes and some kind of epicisia--I'll need to look it up
***OK--the episcia is 'pink panther'. don't know if that's desirable or not since I know so little of gesneriads, but I have lots of other stuff
