Some fish in my pond

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

I have forgot some names. There are guppies, tetras.... I cannot recall without effort! Yet, I sit and watch them everyday, feed them with some fish food, or some rotis [from wheat flour]. They happily consume every bit. They have been living and reproducing happily in the pond for the last two years or so when I repaired the liner and changed water, added the blue lily and some plants. It's been a nice place for the fish too. They seem to recognize me!

I can tell you it was a lot of work! If you have time, there is a thead there describing what all I did and how it all went about. Thanks MM. Those fish are Merry too!

I've looked at some of the threads you have posted on, over the past months (seems we frequent a number of same ones!)
I had to net my ponds for a while to keep the herons out, it seems to have worked and they moved on. I'm thinking about doing it again for the Fall, to keep the leaves out, although we have a larger leaf drop in the spring here in Florida.
I'm adding the 3rd little pond today, but ran out of cement to keep the blocks in place, so will have to continue it tomorrow, after my husband buys some more. I told him I'm too sore to lift anymore! :)

I checked your homepage now but you don't seem to have posted any pictures of your ponds. Why not share with us? Three ponds! Well, you must show how they are.

Oh yes, gardening is hard work - I tell you it is not for the lazy ones - they don't even appreciate, leave alone themselves moving a grass blade! But it is good for us, it keeps us cheerful to forget the pains from lifting soil, and whatnot!

I don't have any on my home page, but have listed them on the forums....I'll take some more and add them so you can see! They're not big, but relaxing anyway! :)

Relaxation is the purpose! Not volume. I'll wait for them.

I have tried to get a good shot of these, but am still not satisfied because they are moving fast. This picture is from my new pond. The opening picture is an old one from the pond which I had to vacate.

I love your fish!

They are all small fish, about 1-2 inches long.

What kinds of fish to you recommend for a new water feature. We just finished building ours and are ready to add some fish. We have two goldfish and that's it. All suggestions appreciated. The pond is 8 x 10 so it's pretty small and we don't want too many but a variety would be nice.

As soon as we come near the pond, all the fish crowd together in anticipation of some food which they are accustomed. Some say fish have short memory. But I'm amazed at how each time it does that from memory!
