Brown Cutworm, Pink Cutworm (Agrotis munda)
Kim, sorry to be so slow to reply! No I don't think your moth is the same as Agrotis munda. Yours has distinct markings back from the head which are not present on Agrotis munda. Also Agrotis munda is an Australian species, which is not found in USA. I have tried to identify your moth, but so far without success.
I see that you posted it to the Hummingbird and Butterfly Gardening forum and got no response.
I should try posting it to the Bug and Insect Identification forum: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/bugid/all/
where I think you are more likely to get some help,
Kennedy
