Osteospermum (not spoon daisy)

Does anyone have Osteospermum seed available? My husband's physical therapist recently took a trip to California & came back in love with Osteospermum. She has been very good to us & I would like to find her some seed to plant next spring.

Hi Pam,

I'm sorry I don't have any seeds for you, I just wanted to ask a general question. I saved some of my seeds last year but not a one of them germinated (and I tried several times). I will be keeping my eye on this thread to see if anybody else has had luck saving their own seed.

However, should you not get any responses I do have good news in that I bought 2 pkgs this year....one from Value Seeds for $.49 and one from Walmoart for .$10.

I've never heard of Value Seeds. Is that online?

I assume you meant the Osteospermum seed was10 cents from WalMart? I don't usually plant annual seeds so I have never checked out WalMart's stock. Thanks for the advice.

Yes, I got quite a few seeds from Value Seeds this year and had good luck with all of them. I think all their seed pkgs are .49 and the shipping is cheap too.

PF says direct sow after last frost. I got a few different kinds of Osteospermum seed in one of my trades. Strangely the seeds all look different. I checked on "theseedsite" & there were pictures of one with papery wings & a different one that was a small black seed. Some of the ones I received looked just like the pics & others didn't. I just thought they would all be similar just different in size. Apparently not.

I am still hoping to find a few more Osteospermum seeds. There are so many varieties.
