Explain Please ........... ( QUEEN) ??
There are 3 types in the Monarch family. All look basically similar, the Monarch has the most elaborate patterns, the Queen next, and the plainest is the Soldier.
The Queen is a close relative of the Monarch, her species is gilippus and the Monarch's is plexippus:

Cool that you have Queens! They don't migrate like the Monarchs do.
thank y'all very much ..........I am going to try and get some pics of the cats this evening and then will post ......... I am not set up yet to raise them in a controlled environment yet, but it looks like I might need to get that way soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!
here is a pic of the monarch crysalis that is out on the milkweed.............
Great James, Queens too!
They are so beautiful, and make , some green & some pink chrysalids.

Wow James. Are you sure you are new at this? lol. You have had some great experiences so far. I am so happy for you. I understand the hesitancy to raise them in a controlled environment. It is a little scary at first but I promise once you get used to it you will love it. But wow, if they are just doing their thing on your milkweed foryou to see how awesome is that? Looks like they do not have many predators your way? Love the chrysalis. You are doing a great job and obviously the BF's love you. Congrats.
