Mother of Thousands, Mexican Hat Plant 'Jaws of Life'
Kalanchoe diagremontiana

Standing tall, this Mother of Thousands is over my head, and I'm 5'7". Very interesting plant, indeed!

Hello Vonedam,

While I am no expert, it might possibly have something to do with
approaching bloom?

Again, just a guess as I am still learning.

Those I have saved and brought indoors for the winter are in
pots, the one in the office have leaves which are hanging down,
they are soon going to bloom. The others, which are
still far from blooming, have upright leaves.

Is your plant tall? This will be my first ever bloom, so we'll have
to learn together.

:-) Please keep in touch and let me know how your plant behaves.

This is so funny. I gathered some cuttings from a vacant lot because I thought they were interesting. I planted them in semi shade along my fence to see what would happen. They took over the side of the fence extending about 5 ft along the ground. They became so abundant that i had to remove a lot of them. I leave them out all thru the winter and summer and nothing seems to bother her.

Oh, Pat, I can imagine in Florida these things are just wild. :-)
