I have never grown any hibiscus but I am interested. My SIL is seeking one that is VERY hardy, and does not grow over 5 feet tall. She likes pinks primarily. I saw the picture of Strawberry Forever and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! Can you give me suggestions? I really would like to buy her one, she has been generous in sharing her plants with me for my new garden.
Thanks!
Pat
seeking "expert" help to find Hibiscus
What zone is she in?
If you meant 'Strawberry Fields Forever' http://www.hiddenvalleynaturearts.com/acatalog/strawberryfieldsforeverinfo.html it's a tropical, so it won't be hardy for her unless she lives someplace like Florida, southern California, etc.
If she lives in a zone similar to yours, you should look at cultivars of Hibiscus syriacus (aka Rose of Sharon), Hibiscus moscheutos, or Hibiscus coccineus, those would all be hardy in your zone. Some of these may get too big, I don't grow any of them so I don't know what their mature size is.
