Glads from seed?

I've collected some seeds from some of my gladiolas. Has anyone tried to grow them from seed? How long does it take for them tp get big enough to bloom? I think there are seedlings around the base of one of mine and they've come up very tiny for two years.

I would ask this question in the glad forum - they are experts on glads over there.
