Mom's decided she likes these better than the tall ones. I have:
Purple Coneflowers
Sweet William.....mixed
Gayfeather(Liatris)
Blackberry Lily
Lavatera Silver Cup
Delphinium Dark Blue
Hardy Hibiscus...I have better luck with cuttings than seeds, but you're welcome to try them.
Early Sunrise Coreopsis.......Coreopsis grandiflora.

Looking for Profusion Series Zinnia
Bumping this...there has to be somebody that has these??
I have Profusion Orange Three, and you are more than welcome to some of the seeds as soon as they are ready. :)
Thank you!!
I have Profusion Cherry Zinnia and can send you quite a few. I am interested in the Blackberry Lily and the Gayfeathers (what color are the Gayfeathers?).
Linda
Thank you!! The Gayfeathers are just the white.....I keep trying the blue, but they never make it through the winter for some reason.
I'll tell Mom I found her some and we can call this thread closed then?
You still need some white ones. I only grew the cherry Profusion this year. Perhaps you should keep your thread open for the white ones?
Please D-mail me your address and I'll send you mine,
Linda
Igrow are the Cherry Profusion the hot pink ones? I ran into a gal on another forum with the prettiest pink profusion zinnias and I'm wondering if they're the same as yours.
Lala, I would call them deep rose to red, rather than pink. Maybe you could get the name of the pink ones? We seem to have limited selection of plants around my area and maybe there are more varieties of Profusion out there than I know about.
Linda
From what I have read there are 8 colours of the profusion series....
I guess I do need to catch up on things! I was only aware of three.
Linda
I just did some on-line research and it seems that there are 5 varieties of Profusion Zinnias now - Apricot, Fire, Orange, White, and Cherry. Lala, perhaps you saw a Cherry that had faded. I also read where Cherry and Orange can produce faded flowers late in the growing season.
Linda
I noticed Park seeds had white, orange, fire, cherry, apricot, double cherry, coral pink and deep apricot......although I couldn't see much difference in a couple of them....thank you all for helping me here, by the way.
In Park's seed book it has 8 different kinds of profusion:
Deep Apricot
Coral Pink
Double Cherry
Apricot
Cherry
Fire
Orange
White
Page 2 in their Spring 2007 catalog. I think I have Fire when I get some seeds I'll send you some.
LOL you saw them took me a while to type them in fixing dinner lol
LOL...sorry, I typed em while Hubby was fixing dinner, unfair advantage on my end...
LOL
Are these the little short, small bloom zinnas? I need something that is very heat resistant. How do these do?
Thanks,
Teresa
Linda I just ask the hot pink zinnia gal if she remembered the name of hers. If by chance it's a different variety than yours do you suppose I could talk you out of a few of your seeds? :D
These have done fine for me in the heat you know how our dought has been and I haven't watered mine much at all maybe once a month and I have some in the corner of the driveway and the road out front. Last year I had the white and they exploaded and got like 3' around when it turned cool so far they are only 2' around. I wish I could take a picture of them I love them they make the neatest round ball lol
I'll save you some seed if you want some I have the fire, it says scarlet orange and they are!
This will be a first saving zinnia seeds for me I have some dead blooms out there but not sure about the seed I tore a envy zinnia head apart to see where the seed were so hopefully I'll find the seeds to these lol We just got rain so will have to wait a couple of days for them to dry. Height on these say 12-15" but mine are 2' I got them hoping they would do like the white ones last year.
If you have extra seeds, I would love to trade for a few colors.
Dmail me.
Teresa
My 'profusion fire' zinnia seeds are ready if anybody wants some, I would like any zinnias that only get about 2' tall or the shorter, would love some pink if anyone has some, or cosmos seeds for trade if you don't have any we can make a trade on something else I have too much wind on the hill for taller plants.
Threegardeners, are your Gayfeather(Liatris) the taller ones if they are I'll take some Lavatera Silver Cup if you want to trade?
Lea
ok..you can have the Lavatera Silver cup for trade. I like the sound of "fire". Is your addy in the exchange?
I have all the above.... BUT they are growing in close proximity, so I have no idea what the seedlings will be, except they will be the same Profusion size, I imagine. I have a bumper crop of Cherry, Double Cherry, Coral Pink, Fire, Apricot -- I'm wainting on some of them to further ripen on the plants. I'm not sure I can tell the difference between Apricot and Deep Apricot on a dead flower, and I think I put the flowers together in the same msh bin to dry, so those would be one color. I have one flower of the white, I didn't like it anyway, so I wasn't disappointed not to have seeds for next year.
Lea, I have pink Dreamlands...they are realy nice. I also have red Magellan and hot pink Magellan and they are equally nice, but they are sloooooow to ripen!
To test if a Zinnia is ripe, you can gently pull on petal and see if the seed at the end of the petal is brown/brownish gray. OR you can pull at the whole flower and if it pops from the stem it is ripe.
Postage has gotten out of hand for me lately, and there is nothing specifically I need. I either need it all or I need nothing, depending on how you look at it. One of those "I'll know it when I see it" kinds of things.
There is a fresh fall seed swap I am asking about in the Cottage Garden Forum. If it takes off, and if you'd like to join, you can request these and I could add them to your envelope. It's sort of iffy right now, depending on interest.
Suzy
I ended up with sooo many seeds last year I still have seeds to plant I don't think I will get in any seed swaps this year unless I get the rest of these planted or I just want to trade for something I want. I have 5 plantstands downstairs and planted over 200 jugs last year and STILL didn't get all of my seeds planted lol I think I will hold off on swaps lol I don't want to work that hard next year I still don't have everything in the ground either, thanks to this lovely hot weather!
I had a white one before and I put it in my moongarden and it fit quite well in the evening it glowed right along with everything else, not sure if it was the same one that you had though Suzy. It did have a green tint to it that's the only way I would plant it again wasn't too pleased with it in the beds.
I have the same person sending me some cherry that Lala has I think, that was the only other profusion that I wanted.
Lea
