This bloomed for the first time today. A cross of Chocolate High X Sunny Wind. Had the deep cut leaves when younger and now the leaves are just 3 lobed. Nice 7 1/2 -8 inch flower with a unique fluted edge looks like a piecrust.. Is about 24 inches tall and growing in an 8 inch pot.
So does it stay or does it go?
Trash or keep #2
I like this one too--love the ruffly edges!
Eclipse - let ME come and take those all off your hands!! ;) It's beatiful, DO NOT trash that one!!
The pie crust edges and the lobed leaves make that one special. Keeper.
Keeper, keeper......it's orange, need I say more. Seriously, I think it has nice edges, nice eye, and the leaves are cool too. Another nice one, Kyle.
It's Horrible! Needs to be trashed . Send to Florida immediately, so I can dump it for you.
cat.....they have landfills in Fla.??? LOL :-)
Nice flower Kyle, good job!
I'd be tempted to name it Tequila Sunrise. ;~)
Dave
I think you must immediately send it to San Bernardino, we definitely have landfills here - yeahhhhh, speciallll landfills ;-)
Kyle, I think I like this one even better than the first keeper with the sunny bloom and super cool leaves. I'll be glad to dispose of it for you, along with any of your other seedlings...
Keep up the great work!
karen
Oh but Karen, the landfills in Florida are sooooooooooo close to my house (wink, wink)
Gotcha all beat. I'm about 45 minutes from Kyle. No shipping required. LOL!
Kyle, that's a very good seedling in appearance and size. Who would say two small parents would give a big bloom!.
Dave, Tequila Sunrise's name is taken by a registered variety.
Regards
Carlos
Carlos, I was thinking a name like "Pumpkin Pie" pumpkin for the color and pie for the ruffled edge. :-)
Kyle
PS. the bloom so far is a one day flower....can't have everything.
LOL
Pumpkin Pie is a good name for it.
Carlos, good to hear from you again.
Kyle, there's a variety registered under the name "Punkin Pie". I don't know if it's a typo or it means the same as "Pumpkin Pie".
http://www.australianhibiscus.com/Database/RegistrationsAlpha/p_registrations.htm
With near 10.000 registered varieties it's no so easy to find a name for a new plant. You can do as Dick Johnson and start a series with a word like "Iowan" for each new seedling.

Carlos
