I haven't heard of these before. What does walking iris require? Same conditions as other iris?

Walking iris aren't hardy in my area, I grow them in pots, and their called walking iris because after it sends up shoots of blooms, the babies will form right on the ends of the shoots, and lay over onto the ground and root into the ground, and so forth on and on, creating new iris's along the way, if grown in the most southern states, this is what would happen, thus calling it the walking iris. LOL it's a super cool plant, and an unusual flower. as far as I know . Well, I only know of these two colors, but I think there is a solid blue one out there somewhere too

They seem to require alot of water, but mine do well in part shade with potting soil in the pot and neglect other than watering LOL

Thanks for the info, kathy_ann. These sounds pretty cool.

kathyann is correct on all points. You can also grow the walking iris indoors in a hanging basket by a window. Ends up looking sort of like a spider plant, sort of.
