Some of my AVs develop this weird scarring on leaves from time to time. Looks like pest damage, but the scars only appear on older leaves, while young leaves look perfectly healthy, which makes me doubt that it's a pest problem.
I have read somewhere that this looks like scars from powdery mildew, but these AVs don't have (and never had) powdery mildew.
I just remove the affected leaves, and the plant may remain fine for months after that, but then it starts again...
Any ideas? :)
Scarring on leaves
Maybe some kind of fungus? I've never seen anything like that on an AV!
Giggra - It appears as if something is chewing the leaf surface. First of all, do you have thrips? They are small slender insects that can be seen on the blossoms. Spilled pollen on the flowers is a sign of their presence. Unfortunately, they are very common and I see them all the time on violets in big box stores and even nurseries. Optimaras and Anthoflores mostly but any vendor can sell plants with them.
If it's a fungus, why it's only visible on older leaves? Beats me...
No, I can't see any insects at all, even with a magnifier. No spilled pollen either.
