CLOSED: Anyone have catnip for postage?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

My catnip died and it's too late to start some from seed this year. My 3 cats need something to mellow them occasionally, and I can overwinter a plant indoors.

Failing that, does anyone have a big bunch of cut fresh catnip? What's in the stores is SO stale it has no smell nor flavor and they just ignore it.

TIA

Hi Darius!
I have small seedlings, a couple of medium sized plants, & a ton of dried nip - Just let me know what you would like, OK?
These are compliments of a huge cat mint plant in my garden. I am inundated with seedlings every year :)

I can't even imagine trying to keep a catnip plant alive in the house. I have to cover what's outdoors, just to keep the cats from destroying it. How do you keep them off it in the house?

Darius, I have been pulling that stuff like weeds.
LMK if you need more.

katie59, I put it in a hanging basket!

Julie, how about some that's recently dried, and 1 med. plant?

Teresa, let me see what I get from the above (and from dmails)... and what if anything survives being indoors all winter. Somehow I think I will need new plants in spring.

Oooooh. Good idea, the hanging basket. Although, I can just imagine the sound of chaos all night as they try to jump up. Mine seem to take several hours to be convinced of anything.

I just had one jump on top of the open garage door and then get his foot caught on the top as it rolled closed. No broken bones, thank goodness, but he's had some nerve damage and is limping. Too early to tell if it's permanent. He's feeling a lot better since it happened last week, but he's still a little depressed, too. Not the most patient patient. :-)

I'm thinking that the hanging basket idea might make for nice Christmas gifts . . . hmmmmm.

Here's my recuperating Allegro earlier this summer after a little catnip sprinkled on the kitchen floor:

Allegro is a beauty - I hope he heals fully. A little extra nip to ease the pain :)

JRush -

Thanks. That's a great idea. He's ready to go outside and I'm keeping him in for the rest of the month at vet's orders. Maybe the catnip will help a little :-)

We have a continuing need for dried catnip. We make and sell purrpads and cat toys for our Christmas crafts church bazaar. Willing to trade purrpads or cat toys for dried catnip. Anyone interested in trading?
