What a Difference

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

This will give you an idea of how dry we are, no rain in almost 2 months.

Oh my, Doris. We were almost there, but the sky opened up on us. I hope you get rain very soon. Imagine all the other damage that goes along with drought. Basement walls crack, water main connections break... The main thing is that people who farm for a living are sunk for this year. So sad. I bet that ground is so hard you can hardly dig the brugs up.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

you got that right brugie, can't even get my spade in the groung, my brugs either will survive or die, they are say we COULD get rain Friday

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

Doris, I hear ya. We have the same thing here. I think we are a foot below normal precipitation for the year, and it's amazing anything will grow right now. Like Shirley said, these poor farmers are in bad shape. In fact, Kentucky's Governor declared a state of emergency for the farmers so that they can receive assistance for their failed crops this year. It's very sad all the way around.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

doin the rain dance... tropical disturbance may hit carolinas! (yes its a gud thing)

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

I will be praying for rain for you....we're dry like this in AZ, but we're prepared for it... We are in our 13 year of drought, and it hurts my heart to think of the suffering of the fauna and flora. I know it has to be even harder for you back east as this is an abnormal condition.

Diehard,
I saw that and was praying for that in hopes that is spreads further west from you. Just something to get this massive dry air system that's been over us for months now. I'll do the rain dance with ya!!

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

cool beans! yeah i'm hoping it will hit more the GA/SC coast, not the SC/NC coast

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

I have to agree with you. It seems like every time one hits the coast of NC it goes right over top of us here.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

The weather has turned crazy everywhere, what has happened to the good ole days when it was 78-80 and rain about once a week to water everything nicely.

Dripping Springs, TX(Zone 8b)

It will get better for you.It was like that here last year the colorado river was so dryboats were laying in the bottom of the river bed. It is so wet this year even the mites have given up.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

haha at last something to get rid of mites, I guess everything has a reason.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Doris, sure hope you will be getting some of that rain coming our way!

Gloria
