First blooms on a seedling

(Zone 10a)

I have some 2 yr old seedlings that have bloomed for the first time this year and although 2 of them are from the same batch of seeds they are both very different. Will the blooms next year be the same because i think i read somewhere (but maybe i dreamt it) that the blooms can change for the first couple of seasons. Any advice please

Hi Nuttynails, where have you been?
Yes, they can change dramatically over the next two seasons.
Pictures?

Well, in places where there is plenty of heat to go around, like Thailand, the blooms are the same every year from the first blooming; however, if heat or energy is not ample then the blooms might not be at their full potential, and it would take a couple of blooming seasons to bear that out. I see people on various forums remarking on how one bloom can change drastically from one year to another, and it is really all about available heat and energy at the time of those blooms and not about anything else. In the winter, bloom colors will look much different than in the heat of summer. A bloom in the house will look pale and lack good color. Heat brings out the red end of the color spectrum, and so heat is important to see the full potential of a flower. Sometimes, without that red pigment, a flower will just show its base colors and look very different from what it is supposed to look like, given ideal (hot) conditions. Seeds have a wide variety of genes and can look like anything. Some will have the traits of one or both of their parents, or they can look nothing like either parent. You are quite lucky to have blooms so quickly after two years.

Hi Hetty
Just joined this group been busy hiding in the house trying to keep cool, it has been a long hot summer. This picture is of a seedling that was supposed to be a Dwarf Yellow White. Whatever it is i think it is beautiful, very small flower and a smell like banana/ suntan cream.
