This is my only newbie for today, Enlightenment. In the photos it is in the garage so my husband wouldn't find it, but now it's sitting out on my back patio until I get it in the ground. It will replace my Forever Young. Flowers are a little different than the pics on the attached card but ... that's ok, still pretty! :)
Blooms for 9-05-07
Ooh...another one for the wish list! Very pretty!
oooooooooo purty! Amanda, you clever little gardener, you!
Ha ha ha, well it's worked! He still hasn't seen it! :)
Just get it planted and IF he says something, just say, "Oh, I got that a long time ago, it's the 1st time it's bloomed, isn't it just lovely?" ;)
Very nice indeed!!
Kyle
HA HA HA HA HA, I'll have to try that!!!! LOL, you crack me up! We know how to play the dumb blonde when necessary, right? ;) Or is it the sweet, innocent but conniving woman who knows all?! Shhhhhh ... don't tell!!
You guys are cracking me up! AuntB, I have used EXACTLY that line before!!!! Same thing with clothes, "oh I just haven't worn it for a really long time" tee hee....
Amanda, I like your reasoning, except in my case it would have to be the dumb redhead ;-)
I gotta say, I don't think I'd even use the word only to describe any part of your Enlightment - it's really stunning!

You know, that's the great thing about being single--I don't have to justify my plant purchases to anyone but myself (and believe me, I'm pretty easy on myself)! Of course if I were married, then there would be a second income that I could use to buy more plants. Hmmm.....
Ecrane, you sound like my mom, and I'm quite sure you are better off the way you have it ;-) If you ever wonder too much, just let me know and we'll trade places for a while...
Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll pass! I decided a while ago that I kind of like things the way they are (plus I was already married once, so I know how it can be)! Of course one of these years I'll hit one of those big birthdays that ends in "0" and wish that I had tried to meet someone before I got old, but for right now I like not having to answer to anyone but me (and my dog)!
Very Beautiful Amanda!!! And don't feel bad I just want to keep everything that I buy, but I can't and now I feel like it has to be justified. Why do i want to keep this????? And it is even very hard to give an explanation of why to me, myself and I. So sometimes I flip a coin to keep or not to keep. I always choose heads to keep it because I know my nickle is a 2 headed nickle, 1 head on each side ;-) no tails!!!
Robert,
I understand you can't keep everything. Whatever you need to trash, I can load on the 18 wheeler :)
Ha ha ha! Robert, go ahead and load 'em up on Cat's 18-wheeler - it'll come to my new home in Palm Bay, FL!! Ha ha ha!
Enlightenment is very pretty, Amanda. Will have to put her on my list for next year. Where did you find her?
My local HD! :) I have got to stay away!
Thanks. I'm too far away from HD. Maybe I can find it some other place.
Can't believe you found that at HD! My HD never has anything very special.
I know it!! When I saw it, I about passed out!! There were about 10 of them there, right in front. None were blooming, but all had LOTS of buds and today I've got 2 blooms! No pics though cause we were running out the doors this morning like chickens. I might try to get some this evening though. It was in a 1 gallon pot for $16.98 + tax. I also purchased my 2 Rum Runners from my local HD and a Forever Young (although I regret the Forever Young). I haven't seen any other intriguing tropicals at the HD's, but I bought these! Next I have to pillage Robert's stash!
Interesting tidbit of info here for you guys! When I came home from class last night (I started taking night classes to finish my degree. Grrrr! I'm scared to go with all of these high school kids who are so on top of things!), my husband was outside cooking burgers and sausage on the smoker for me: RIGHT NEXT TO the newly purchased and still potted Enlightenment!! And it was pretty obvious. I kept waiting for that to come up but it hasn't yet. You think I've got him trained? ;)
