Passiflora 'White Wedding'

St. Paul, MN(Zone 4b)

Hello All.

I thought I would share a pic of my first P. 'White Wedding' flower. I am impressed. The flowers are very large, solid and striking. Even the buds get huge before they open. In my haste to get the pic this evening before the sun went down, I didn't think to smell it. I'll check that out later.

Thank you again, Kyle, for sharing this one with me. A keeper for sure.

Erick that's gorgeous!

Erick,
Most lovely. Do you think when it is more mature that it will bloom earlier in the summer? This is always a consideration for zone 4. Thanks for posting. You have the touch, as usual.

Thank you all for the kind comments.

Susan, I'm hoping so. My plant is only about a year old, from a rooted cutting, so that may account for the first few blooms coming so late this season. It is my understanding that, in general, Passifloras are more florally productive as they get older, so I'll pamper this one through the coming winter and give it another shot in a prime position in the garden next summer. The flowers are really that stunning to make it worth it.

Thank you Susan, Carolyn and Jackie, for the kind comments. Now that cooler weather has set it here, the flowers are lasting for several days. I am still impressed by their size and heft.

So that is what it looks like! Very Pretty.... Thanks for sharing the photo of it Erick!

I have a small plant of this and it did bloom the last week of August while I was away on holidays so when I came home all that was left were a couple dried up blooms. It does have another one or two forming now but it might be to late to get to see them unless the cold weather holds off for a bit. I was assuming mine bloomed so late because it was small and I just got it in July. It was probably a cutting rooted up just before I got it.
