This brug is standing in full sun. She complains during the day and then shows her stuff in the evening and early morning. This picture was taken around 11 AM and it's hot and humid here most days.
Day Dreams
Beautiful they are all beautiful great pictures. you have such green growing fingers all them!!.. lol.
Gorgeous Shirley! Thank you for sharing the pics. The big Brug show in my yard is finally underway. I easily have 1,000+ buds opening in the coming days. It is quite the show.
Erick
I loved your pictures, Shirley!
I especially love the spotted Rosalie and Daydreams!
I'm so glad you are getting some beautiful blooms, this living in our zone is just too short a time for our beauties!! It would be so nice to be able to see all the fall blooms, as they are always prettier.
Bonnie
Whatever you are feeding Rosalie, Shirley, continue doing so. Just a great color and so unique.
Tussee
Oh my gosh!! I love the marbled look of Rosalie!!! Truly unique.
As for Day Dreams, I am really hoping for cooler weather, because she keeps throwing her buds to the ground in disgust. Yours on the other hand, is gorgeous!!
Wow.. beautiful pictures again Brugie! Amazing! I love the marble streak Rosalie.. That is the best! I have a double that colored a couple of times up in blotches then they blended, or sometimes one complete skirt then the other.. I even think that is neat! But Marbled.. I love that! That is also a perfect shot of L'Amour.
Yeah, I like the marbled Rosalie too!
rosalie looks beautiful! if you could get the spots to stay, you should register it!
Beautiful.. my Rosalie is about to bloom... .. great day dreams... Gordon
Your Day Dreams is beautiful! I'm holding my breath to see mine's first blooms.
Thanks everyone. I'm just so tickled to even have some blooms. Everyone in Texas....stay safe. It sounds like your brugs are being watered again. At least some of you.
Ah!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!
AAAAHHHH BRUGIE what a sight, I love the marble look of Rosalie, and Day Dreams as beautiful as ever.
All beautiful! I'm on a pink thing this year, too. Well I've always liked pink.... Rosalie's "variegated" bloom is very unique! Are you sure it's rosalie? I like it Brugie! Would fertilizer do that?
Thanks everyone. I don't know if it is the fertilizer or maybe the ProMix, tho last year it wasn't in the ProMix and it was still freckled. Maybe it's in the water.....
Erick...I hope you are out getting pictures. I'm looking forward to seeing some of those blooms. 1000 of them would not only be gorgeous, but it would smell like a perfume factory in the evening. What a treat it would be.
That would be an awesome place to be -- in Erick's garden. What with all the vines and brugs and everything else I've seen him post about, it must be a wonderland!!
Ok, hold your breath folks, Day Dreams is just about to poke through the calyx any second, so let's hope this one stays on, otherwise, I'll just fall in a crumpled heap on the ground. Won't even talk about Adeline at this point. :(
Gorgeous!
Good luck with DD's. My spent blooms are all over the ground. I'd rather they be just opening right now since we are having cooler weather starting in a day or two.
Thanks Fish_knees.
"Day Dreams" is the most beautiful Brug I've seen in a while! Something to be proud of...
I have a few blooms now I am waiting for the cutting's that I got from Eclipse (KYLE) to Bloom - Orange & Gold ones. With all the rain we had last month! My hardy Hibiscus are going crazy with
Blooms.
Jerry.
Shirley, I showed my Day Dreams your picture of your gorgeous bloom, and well, she's trying. It is, after all her first bloom .... I did have to help with the calyx because it was becoming melded to the bloom because of all the heat. At least, it's only 83 now and overcast, so that should help out bunches!
That was a good move to help her. Maybe our temps won't be so hot now. I think we are to have a cold front go through tonight, leaving us with temps in the mid seventies to maybe the mid eighties. I can handle that.
Your bloom looks like it is showing color, so be sure you don't "look it to death". LOL! Enjoy!
I've never seen my Day Dreams bloom, but it's certainly worth waiting for. It is so beautiful. I also love the mottled bloom of Rosalie. Guess I'll have to purchase one the next time it comes up on Ebay, and hope that blooms like yours.
We've had so much rain this year that the bugs are rampant. Every plant in my yard is being chewed up by something. The cannas are covered with leaf rollers, the brugs and everything else with snails. I haven't been able to get out and spray or fertilize this year because of DH's failing health. I need some beautiful blooms to cheer me up.
great pics brugie.....you're awesome
Thanks Sylvia and Frank. We had a storm last night and things aren't very pretty out there today.
well brugie the storm didn't make it here, they predicted storms all day, we had a sprinkle that didn't even leave a spot on the window, they still say storms over the weekend :)
I'm sorry, Shirley! Hopefully nothing was damaged too badly!! Seems like you've really been getting hit with a lot of storms here lately!!
I'm sorry Doris. I guess this is just one of those years that we would rather put behind us and move on toward next spring and hopefully a much better year in 2008.
Felicia, I've reached that point in my life that I might have a moment that I'm upset about what Mother Nature has done to me and others, but I don't worry about it anymore. It's not something that I can change, so I just go with the flow and make do with what comes along. I've had more good years than bad. LOL!
Shirley I agree with that and have decided it is definately too late for rain to help much with my plants so befor they all wither away I am taking cuttings of the ones I want to keep, and not worry about them any more, I have several new seedlings in my plant room so next year should be a great one, flowers are wonderful but life is too short to put so much pressure on your health every day. if God wants us to have the rain we will *S*
couldn't be more right!
WHEEEEE it rained last night I think we have about 2 inches, it is still cloudy and much cooler so could get more today, it is amazing how much the grass greened up overnight.I am sure all the farmers are in church today *S*
I was thinking about you yesterday, Doris. Wondering if you were in 1/2 the state that was getting rain. That's great news for ya!!
Rosalie is just to cool. I love the coloring Shirley. Daydreams and bad angel is just beautiful.... They all look great!!!! I am glad you are getting some blooms on your brugs!!!
I always enjoy seeing your pictures.
