This is the first year I have brugs of any size. Well actually last year most of them froze to the ground but it was a rare occasion that we get a freeze here. So here is my questions, and if there has already been a tread about this I couldn't find it, so sorry in advance.
How and when do I prune and how much do I just cut back the branches ? Above the Y only? I don't want to ruin them for next year. Or maybe I don't prune them at all but it seems that some of them are getting, whats the word, leggy. I seriously need advice. I know this sounds stupid . But I really need help. I see brug pictures here with the most beautiful shapes and I want to achieve that look.
Thanks
Linda
How to prune
I've read to trim above the Y, leaving 6 leaf nodes on each branch. Right now, if you do that, you will probably be taking away a lot of bloom potential, as the weather is getting ready to create perfect bloom conditions.
Can you post pictures so we can see what you have and how to get what you want?
