Thank you, thank you!

OK, camera details. Canon 30D using my 100-400 mm lens at 400mm. This lens has a stabilizer and it apparently works, because I was holding it with no additional support. Camera and lens weigh 4 1/2 pounds and after awhile, holding it up to your eyeball, it gets very heavy. I may have to develop some muscles. I absolutely love this lens! And the camera too!

This guy was not liking me standing out where his feeder was, and he kept moving from tree to shrub, agitated at my presence. I tried to keep him in view, but I couldn't even find him through the lens in some of the places he landed. Finally he landed in the Magnolia, and once I found him, I just kept shooting. This was the best, and I was thrilled that his gorget shows so brilliantly. I thought it was a female until I saw the photo on the computer.

That is a great camera and a great lens. It is the next lens that I plan to buy for my 400D.
