my hen laid an egg yesturday, does this mean i can have babies soon? if i let her lay her one egg a day to build a clutch will she sit on them? is there a way to tell if my roo has been furtalizing my eggs?

Well, if they're small I wouldn't give it a shot, incubate. I would wait about 1 month until you can incubate. And it also depends on the hen itself. Only if it's broody it will start setting.

HOW DO I KNOW IF A HEN IS BROODY?
It'll usually lay on some eggs and walk around making odd sounds. Don't get it confused from when it wants to LAY an egg. I personally would not have any experience in that part of a chicken, because mine are, I guess, never broody. LOL. So try not to take my word for it.
