I have a horse trough for a pond. Just started it June 5, 2007. Don't really know very much about ponding yet. I am in zone 8a. Would they live here or would I have the same too cold you have.

im on lthe line of 7a-7b
if you get any frost at all you will have to bring them in

We do get frost and hard freeze. About two months of real winter. Thank you for your offer. Surely someone will be able to take them. I have peoney that are multiplying like mad. Only get buds and foliage because we don't have a long enough freeze at any one time. Don't know what to do with them either. Inherited from my mother and I'm sure a scentimental nut.....but mostly could not even think of intentionally killing a plant......well, depends if it is a weed or invasive. I am in Dallas, Texas and our weather has been anything but normal for some months. It started raining again about 20 minutes ago...already 1/2 inch in the rain gauge. Who knows what the winter season will bring.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

moretz, these really do reproduce quickly!

I was reading in plantfiles about these, and some people say if you pull off the roots and compost the plant, they make for great compost, too.

Roswell, NM(Zone 6a)

I would like some of your plants, If you will tell me the cost of shipping I'll get it to you. I have an old water tank for a pond too, but we keep a tank heater in it during the cold months, I have fish and my husband said I couldn't bring all 20 in the house when it got cold. Thanks Susan

Lou C. Don't give up on getting blooms from your peony. I live south of you in the Waco/Temple area and I have 2 that bloom for me. Even had blooms this spring after the mild winter.

Shhhhhhhhhhh, those drop dead gorgeous Water Hyacinths are illegal in many states. It is one of those things where everybody has them but it is best not to talk about it. :-)))))))
